This reseller inventory tracker follows every item from the sourcing trip to the sold listing and shows the profit left after platform fees, postage and the days it sat unsold.
Cost, fees, postage — and the profit that is left after all three. What you paid for an item and what it sold for are two numbers that never meet on a payout screen, and the item that sat in a box for four months tied your money up the whole time it was there.

Who it is for
People reselling on eBay, Vinted, Poshmark, Depop and Etsy, sourcing from charity shops, car boots, wholesale pallets and clearance. It suits the point where you are holding enough stock that you can no longer say from memory what is still in the box, what it cost, or how long it has been there. One person or a household side business, not a warehouse.
The worked example
The file arrives filled in with fifteen items across six platforms and five sourcing trips. Ten have sold and five have not, and the five that have not are already showing amber, because they have been held past the 90-day mark that the file flags on.
No profit total is quoted on this page, because what the example is really there to show is the shape of a row rather than somebody else’s takings. Each of the fifteen items carries its own purchase cost, cleaning or repair spend, the platform it sold on, that platform’s fee, postage and the days it was held; Where You Stand turns those columns into money tied up in unsold stock, profit, return on cost, average days to sell and sell-through, and What Sells splits the same figures by category. Type over the fifteen rows with your own buys and every one of those figures moves to yours.

Questions people actually ask
What is my actual profit after eBay fees and postage?
Every item row carries purchase cost, cleaning or repair spend, the platform fee and the postage, and the profit column is what is left after all of them. Days held sits on the same row, so an item that took four months to sell is not read as the same win as one that went in a week. Where You Stand adds it all into profit, return on cost and sell-through without you typing anything.
Which platforms does it cover?
Ten platforms, and you name all ten yourself — eBay, Vinted, Poshmark, Depop, Etsy or anything else you list on. You type each platform's fee rates in next to it, so the file is never out of date when a platform changes its charges. Selling in person or direct simply means a platform row with no fee.
I have not kept records of what I paid for my old stock.
Start from today and enter items as you buy them; the file works from the first row you type. For stock you already hold, put in your best figure for what it cost and mark the date you are starting from — the days-held clock and the 90-day amber flag will run from there. The Sourcing tab lets you judge a whole buying trip rather than reconstruct individual receipts.
Does it work in Google Sheets and in my currency?
Yes to both — it is built as .xlsx and opens in Google Sheets and LibreOffice as well as Excel 2016 or newer on Windows and Mac. For Google Sheets use File, then Import, then Upload, and choose Replace spreadsheet; the formulas carry over. It carries no currency of its own, so the figures are whatever you type.
Does it import my sales from eBay or Vinted?
No — nothing in it imports, syncs or logs in to a selling platform, a bank or a payment account. You type each item in, and you type your own platform fee rates, which is why it keeps working when a platform changes its charges. It holds 500 items, 10 platforms, 100 sourcing trips and 24 months, and it is not tax advice.
Need it built around your business?
This file assumes you buy items individually or by the trip, sell them one at a time on platforms you name, and pay the fees yourself. If your reselling runs differently — pallets and job lots broken down into many listings, bundles sold as one item, consignment where somebody else’s stock sits in your listings, or a business registered for tax that needs cost of goods sold in a particular form — I can rebuild the same arithmetic around how you actually buy and sell.
