Districts screen on licensure. A general resume template puts it near the bottom under education, where an automated filter — or a principal working through two hundred applications in April — will not find it in the ten seconds your file gets.

Composition first, then what changed

Class composition is what makes everything after it mean something. Twenty-eight students with 40% English language learners is a different achievement to twelve. So the prompts ask for the room before they ask for the result.

Weak: “Taught 4th grade reading and math to a diverse group of students.” Better: “Taught 4th grade reading and math to 28 students, 40% ELL and 6 with IEPs, raising NWEA reading growth above the grade-level target.” Same year, same teacher — one of them is a claim and the other is evidence.

Written in district vocabulary

The instructional skills block uses the words postings use — differentiated instruction, IEP and 504 accommodation, formative assessment, PLC, MTSS, classroom management — because that is what the filter is matching against.
