Accountant & Bookkeeper Resume Template — ATS CPA CV
Accounting is filtered on systems first. Before anyone reads your close process, a search runs for NetSuite, or QuickBooks, or Sage Intacct.
A general template gives you one skills line at the bottom of page two and no prompt to name the system anywhere else. These files put the certification and the software where they get read, and every experience prompt asks for the two numbers that actually separate accountants: volume and cycle time.
What is in it
- Accountant (.docx) — the experienced layout, one to two pages. Summary, certifications and licences above experience, a two-line technical skills block with systems first and the work second, then experience and education.
- Bookkeeper and career change (.docx) — one page, with software and certifications right at the top where they do the most work when you do not have an accounting degree or years behind you. Room for a contract practice rather than only employers, with client count and monthly volume, and training and courses instead of a degree section.

- Plain text version (.txt) — for application portals that strip formatting.
Every bullet asks for volume or cycle time
Entities, accounts reconciled, close days, transaction volume. There is also a prompt for the audit outcome that almost everyone leaves out — “clean opinion, no adjustments” is a sentence a controller reads twice.
Why it parses
Single column, contact details in the body rather than the header, no tables and no text boxes. System names sit as plain text in their own block, so a filter searching for “Sage Intacct” finds it instead of missing it inside a sentence.
